I had the same issue. Ordered on Tuesday morning and on Wedensday it was still pending. I rang to see what the story was as i wanted the stuff for Sunday and won't get to a shop. They said they were very busy building bikes and hadn't processed any orders! But once i gave out he said he'd sort it and it arrived yesterday!

Had this problem before myself. I made sure to order items that were listed as in stock, so I figured I'd get it quickly. I rang them only to be told that their online system is not linked to the inventory and some of the items I'd asked for were not in store and had to be ordered in from suppliers.

Is this the Irish or UK shop we're talking about?

Went out to CSS last night to sample helmets that appeared to me to be in stock on their website, but weren't when I got there.

theyt just rang there, same situation - ordered stuff that was in stock on website but its not actually in stock! bit of a joke. could be 6 to 10 days for my shoes and pedals now. wish id ordered elsewhere. lesson learnt!!

got them to ship the rest anyway

I've being in the same situation where I've ordered and then waiting for the delivery. I find this service really poor that they provide, they've always have a good website but their stock-online ordering service has become downhill the last year or so.

I was there the other night. I got the impression that they are a bit snowed under with WW200 related repairs and servicing etc.

It did seem busy last night, although it was mainly people buying new bikes from what I could see, at least 2 Lapierres being prepped.

Bit of a fatal flaw not to have your stock inventory synched to your website. I went in there, cash in pocket, willing to pay a little more for a Giro Saros in the spirit of supporting local. They didn't have any.

Then I went home, and somehow an Ionos fell into my shopping basket, and before my conscience could yell 'desist, that's way over budget!' I'd clicked the place order button. I felt a little dirty but invigorated at the same time.

Last year when I was looking for a 105 groupset, I called up CSS to see if they had it. The answer was they didn't and that it would take 5-6 weeks to order in. Crazy bad service.

leasson learnt by me. will never use them again full stop. w200 or whatever, they should be letting you know how long it will be and whether its in stock or not.

why did i have to mail them and not the other way around?

CSS is my first choice for instant gratification of the cycling purchase kind, 'cos they're local for me. It's a nice place to walk around.

I wouldn't use them for internet stuff, since their prices are not competitove enough.

Don't underestimate them, they have beaten CRC on a lot of shimano parts for quite a while. Not for a lot of other things, but it is something.

It is a pity that their site gives the false impression that they have a slick web-store. I only buy stuff in person and only after telephoning to make sure they have what I want. The website should be treated as more of a catalogue, but I guess they might have intentions to improve that aspect of their business. Good shop in any case.

Wow, I always had good experience with these folks. I never expect anything online to come right away. That' the whole idea of buying online, you don't get it rightaway.

Yeah Tonto is spot on. I was going to order a set of 700x25 gatorskins, but was heading in anyway so thought I would pick them up in the shop. Nope, out of stock, but still listed as in stock for days afterwards.

Still waiting on delivery of a water bottle from about 2 years ago. No reply to emails or voice mails. Useless!

I'd be the same Lumen. Local and handy.

I too have fallen foul of their website stating stock available only to find it's out of stock in-store. Would never buy online from them anyway.
It's a nice place to walk around.

I paid my first visit to Wheelworx today. I could only enter, shimmy around and exit the shop by going sideways. You couldn't get to look at anything properly. Again this may have been due to the WW200.Seemed a lot of bikes taking up floor space may have been in for service.

I'll take CCS over Ww,any day, when it comes to shopping in comfort.

Just on a somewhat related note. I went out there on Sunday to pick up a pait of tri shoes, they didn't have them in my size so the guy brought out a load of pairs.. the cheapest of which were over twice the price of the original ones I was after... I left and got the pair I wanted in Wheelworx for cheaper with not attempts to upsell me.

CSS were better a few years ago. They are still competitive on Shimano bits as stated previously, but in general I avoid these days. Delivery is the slowest of any online store I have dealt with and the stock system is crap. Had to wait 3 months for an "instock" headset a couple of years ago and have avoided since then.

Unfortunately not. Was part of quite a large order including a polar cs200 and tacx turbo trainer. Ended up getting a few bottles on CRC who are way cheaper and actually deliver orders fully. Have moved on!

after 14 days, i finally got my shoes and pedals last night. thank god the shoes fit, couldnt imagine trying to swap them with them

Ordered a set of 'in stock' tyres this morning from CSS - email arrived this evening - now they're out of stock and 'hopefully' will be in next week.

Hmmph. Need them for this wkends cycling. They evidently aren't tracking their stock properly

Made them an offer - if they take it all well and good, if not I see a refund from CSS and receipt from CRC in my near future...
