This is probably a dumb question so hopefully the answer isnt "you train to be a vet". :o

I would like to get training in dog grooming and related stuff. Is it something you do train in?

Absolutely it is! I've been looking into doing a night course/sat course for september.
In cork st johns runs them http://www.stjohnscollege.ie/index.php?pageID=102
Also some dog groomers run courses themselves.

Colleges like the bray institude of further education and killester college run courses that have dog grooming as part of them. be careful of groomers running courses as usually they dont give you a recognised quailification just their own made up "cert"
