Just thought I'd let you all know about a videocast that myself and Steve Leighton have thrown together. The first episode is up and we're going to be recording once a month (the next one is in Dublin!). Its also available as a podcast, the next one will be split into 4 parts. Any feedback is much appreciated ;)

I've read about it on the blog, I'll be taking a look at the video tonight.

    Good luck with it.

You are probably ahead of me with the idea to split into 4 parts - will need to watch again to digest the full discussion. Fair play to you both for the work being put into it.

Cheers, we were worried it might be too long but thats what we liked about it and the feedback, for the most part, seems to echo that. The next one will be in 4 seperate pocasts or as a whole on vimeo so best of both worlds!

Had a look too. It was a little too long for me but generally pretty interesting. Also it looked like there was absolutely no planning and there were times when I lost interest as the two of you wandered off topic.

Having said that, I think it was a decent first effort and I will be keeping an eye on future videos. (How about showing us some barista tricks of the trade in one of the future entries)

PS. You may want to ease off on the coffee for a couple of hours prior to filming mate - you were using the counter top as a set of bongo drums for a while there!! ;):)

I think "conversation between two guys" feel to it was what made it interesting. There are plenty of things to watch that are edited to death. This was like the guys at my shoppe talking coffee on a sunday afternoon. More things like this will make the coffee community seem more approachable to everyone else. And Colin, I love that you didn't nail your milk. Makes me feel better about myself.

Yeh, we kinda kept forgetting the camera was there so have to be a bit more "focused" this time, but the banter stays! Thanks for the feedback, and if you have anything you'd like us to do in future by all means say so and we'll see what we can do. Barista skills are definitely something we wanna get into doing

Cheers, approachable is great. Education through intimadation is not a route I would favour so thats really great to hear. Just for the record though, thats the only time I didnt nail it :D

No worries, new to the machine, it is understandable. I used the Aurelia for the first time a few weeks ago and had the same results.

Jasus, the banging on the counter there Colin!! haha, after a couple of minutes I kept watching to see if you'd do it again. Even Steve had a go at you! haha. The video was great, although a little too long. You and Steve have a good presence and compliment each others style of conversation if that makes sense. You seem a little nervous - hence the drums, so relax a little next time eh? :) It's good stuff and great to see. Looking forward to your next installment.

    Cheerio
