I'm gonna try this for first time in August, anyone any experience of it. It is about 1.5KM in Kayak in Killary Harbour then 43KM on and off road cycle and about 20 KM running including up Croke Patrick.

Sounds about right, allthough from looking at the times of last years event I think the Kayak might be a bit shorter than 1.5K

Any idea how long it should take, I'd be in the jogger category ?

Answer to my own question, from the FAQ on the site
Here are the approximate finishing times for each category:
    Elite 3.5- 4 hrs
    Runners 4 - 5.5 hrs
    Joggers/Walkers 5.5 - 10 hrs

here is my first attempt at anything like this before (last year)
    http://connect.garmin.com/activity/6526676

I would consider myself to be of below average fitness. The people who do better in this even are runners. (more so than hill hikers and cyclists imo)

    Breakdown is:
    run/trail 12k
kayak 1.6k (this really is a piece of piss and no one should ever worry about it)
    trail/run 3.5k
    cycle 32.5k
up and down croagh patrick 4.5k
    cycle/offroad biking 12.5k

While I'm here, I'm looking to cut down on the amount of stuff I bring and ask some advice. Had a camel pack last year and this was really annoying.
What do runners here use for running long distances and keep hydrated?
