Mondeo Sony 6CD issue..Check CD

Hi, my dad's Sony CD (as supplied with Fords of the time) is not playing CDs anymore. It loads CDs with out issue but will not play then, after a few seconds it pops the CD out. I tried using a Cleaner disc, but this did not work. Any ideas. (Mondeo 2.2 TdCi Ghia 2004)
