Getting contacts from a deactivated SIM

    Hi,

A friend of mine has lost her mobile phone. She's gotten O2 to lock the SIM so that no-one can make calls with the phone but she's concerned that if she asks them to deactivate the SIM and the phone turns up she won't be able to get her contacts off the old SIM and on to her new SIM. Is this true?

    Thanks.

    R.

    No, it's not true.

Whether the SIM can pick up coverage or not isn't relevant. Once she has the PIN / PUK and the PUK hasn't been blocked out she'll have no issue.
