    I just got the following:
    We know you have previously shopped with M and M Direct and thought you would be interested in our new site, and to celebrate the launch, we would like to give you free delivery* on any purchase over €50 for the next 10 days. Simply enter code 7RC1 in the payment screen.

    Why not forward this on to friends and family who you think would enjoy saving up to 75% off big brand names and free delivery on orders over €50, but hurry! Offer ends Midnight Sunday 14th June 2009.
    Click here to visit the new Euro site and start saving! www.mandmdirect.com

    I've ordered clothes and trainers off the UK site before and they often
    have nice reductions on brand names and delivery was only 3 days to Dublin.

    They always shipped here anyway AFAIK, but free P&P (usually £9.95) is a great deal.

    Ya they always shipped here, but recently changed thier site so that they will only deliver to Ireland if you select euro as the currency (which works out a little dearer than the sterling prices - but nothing like the way play.com used to be). The shipping has reduced also... it now costs about €7.50 for delivery.

    4 T-shirts for 53 euro.

    Thanks OP.

    I ordered on Friday and got my order this morning, good to see they're still
    fast on the shipping front. (And the courier they use seems to deliver to me just before 8.00 in the morn each time - early!)

    if so, this is a new development;
    when i bought from them pre-xmas they assured me they'd accept my maestro-logo debit card but three failed orders later they told me that they didn't have the technology to process irish cards, as our chip & pin technology was too advanced;
    eventually i re-ordered with my visa card and got delivery more than a week later;
    it cost me a lot of time and money on phonecalls to resolve the matter;
    when i complained to their customer services dept i was ignored;
    after continuously complaining (and being ignored) i was eventually told that they'd responded to all of my emails;
    a blatant lie;
    it took months for them to provide me with hard copies of their emails and these turned out to be bogus;
    i was more than reasonable throughout in my dealings with them;
    maybe that was my problem, i was too nice!
    i'd never deal with them again!

    Anyone have first hand experience of delivery times?

    Cheers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,951 ✭✭✭fdevine

    I have ordered from them several times. Generally delivery is 2 to 3 working days.

    If you order before lunch it will more than likely be sent same day.

    P&P by courier used to cost st£9.95, but now costs €7.50. It doesn't appear as though the delivery times have suffered as a result.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,780 ✭✭✭pissed

    I also have ordered from them several times and have always had an excellent service. Delivery as stated above takes about 2 to 3 working days. Its nice to see they are now doing the free delivery on orders over €50 and the sterling - euro conversion rate is not too much off the mark. Expecting a delivery today or tomorrow :)

    Thanks OP, just got a pair of Asics Gel runners and a nice pair of Kickers for €52 delivered... :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,189 ✭✭✭Gekko

    Thanks OP. Got a set of regatta waterproofs, a Nike windbreaker jacket for cycling and a nice pair of kickers leather shoes + the free delivery, all for €76.

    If I was shopping here in Dublin, I'd probably pay that for the shoes alone!!

    the worst part is they'll cancel the order, unknown to you, and then some items you wanted go out of stock;
    they should hold the goods for you for a day so as to give you an opportunity to rectify the problem;
    the problem isn't even of your doing;
    don't bother phoning them as it'll waste a lot of your time & money and they'll still probably tell you that all is rosy & your order has already been despatched;
    it was on my fifth attempt that i finally came across a staff member that knew what he was doing;
    as for dispute resolution, forget it, the female in charge is a waster & a liar;

    I placed an order on yesterday and payed over secure server got a confirmation printed off ok. Got an email later saying problem with my billing address not matching my card details.

    Problem was on MandMs side as when inputting the cardholders address the country options only give country's where they deliver to and instead of Ireland they option is EIRE.

    I'm still awaiting response to my emails and phone call. :mad:

    EIRE for feck sake!:confused: Spanners!!!!!!!

    Technically, the Irish state has two names. . Eire or Ireland. The "Republic of Ireland" is not an official name for our state (per 1937 constitution - Get an Education :D)

    Technically yes! Mr Wikipedia I was wrong, my education is questionable. But the issue here is What is used on your Credit card address

    A. Ireland
    B. Republic of Ireland
    C. Eire

    I don't think Eire is recognised by the credit card processing systems as a valid country unfortunately.

    That makes no odds. Many others have ordered fine from them using the same payment system. That simply points to you being the problem. Your emails and calls complaining about "EIRE" will do little other than delay your order.

    I have a print out of my order confirmation which shows my address as i gave it, which is correct apart from The EIRE bit which came from a (drop down menu)

    FROM MandMdirect email:

    "Unfortunately it would appear that we have incorrect Cardholder address details and therefore your order is currently on hold? In order for us to despatch your order we need to ensure that your address details are correct."

    So therefore why do you think the problem is with me cast-iron.

    At least they could have replied to my emails in which i confirmed my correct address.

    People like you who live to post comments on boards in a patronising way really sicken people like me who use boards as a way of gaining and sharing information. Facts are a lot more relevant than opinions.

    Well I'm sorry I sicken you, it was not my intention. If boards.ie was for merely facts and no opinions, it would be small place indeed. I gave my opinion with the facts laid out in front of me. A "patronising" manner does no change my reading of the facts.

    In any case, I've been there - refused a transaction because my address merely stated "St" instead of "Street" as I had registered with my cc company. A lesson learnt. However, you may well have done everything right; I'm only saying the fact that no one else here reported the same issue points to a different problem.

    Same thing happened me when I ordered first. I emialed them beck to say my cc address was the same as addres I gave them. No reply so I rang. When I got through, eventually, the girl told me that the bank released the funds after I sent email. It would have been nice to get reply to my initial email but I can't complain too much, I got some nice gear off them.

    Just to update:
    Checked my online banking just now and I see a debit from my credit card from mandmdirect yesterday.
    The only communication i have received from them so far is the "in correct cardholder address" email
    We'll just have to see what happens. Its a pity they dont have a login to view orders and account details on their website it would be a bit more reassuring.

    Your order will come now. I waited 3 days before contacting them after recieveing the incorrect cc details email. They told me they went for money and got it after my contact. Goods arrived a few days later. I'd say you'll have your goods by Tuesday or Wednesday latest

    I've ordered a couple of items and got the same credit card email. Sent a response with my address and also advising them to change their country listing from EIRE to Ireland. Emailed same to their customer service department.

    I wouldn't think so. In the email you got there should be an email address you need to send your postal address to. My message said my order was on hold until I confirmed my address.

    I got my order on time in the end and cant fault the goods. The glitch in the system did delay things by about 2 days though.

    I placed my first order last week and got the credit card address email, I just sent back an email stating that both addresses are the same. The following day I was the money go through on my visa bill and the goods arrived 3 days later.

    With 14 and 12 year olds I ordered a lot of things including trainers, tshirts, hoodies, base wear and jog pants and the lot came to €160. Very impressed with this site and will be using it again.

    Hey,
    I have a big order I want to put through but I'm wondering is it worth waiting until January. ie. Will they have more reductions in a Jan sale?

    Anyone remember from last year or anything?
