how do i enable my wireless key on my laptop

HI guys, trying to log on to the net for the first time using my Acer Aspire laptop and the wireless key is disbled. can someone tell me how to turn it on ? i have tried fn and f2 and it opens up an 'e-management' settings? thanks

Is there a hardware switch on the side of the laptop? Maybe it got flicked off.
