Ireland have a strong side. Porterfield is back, as is Niall O'Brien. No place for Botha, Johnston or Stirling.

Ireland opened the bowling with Kyle McCallan, an interesting approach.

Good start by Ireland. SA are 16 for 0 off 3.

If they can restrict SA to less than 160 it would be a pretty good effort.

I have a feeling Jeremy Bray is going to have a good day today.

Ireland had a very close game against SA before the 2007 World Cup. I have a feeling they are going to get very close again today!

Ouch! Smith just hit Cusack for 24 off the tenth over. 75 for 0 off 9 becomes 99 for 0 off 10.

LOL, before the 50 over World Cup Ireland had SA at 91-8 before Hall came to the crease to save South Africa

South Africa were 99 for 0 off ten, and they have closed the innings on 163 for 4. It looks like a good recovery from Ireland. I think Ireland have a chance here!

Smith and Kallis did retire though to give some others a chance of time in the middle, so that probably contributed to the slow down.

33 for 1 off 4 overs. JB hit 17 off 12 balls. A good opportunity for an upset here. But I would much rather they win on Monday!

Niall O'Brien hits 62 from 52, and Ireland lose by 30 runs, not too bad,

is there another warm up game tomorrow for Ireland, against South Africa?,

could be a error in the report on Sky Sports...

Disappointing cricket on Irelands behalf, South Africa or not.
