Car Radio question

I have a VW polo, 2002, the new model, twin head lights.
what i was wondering is, as the car has a tape deck only fitted, how simple is it to change the radio, thinking more from the point of purchasing one that suits my needs, and possibly getting it garage fitted? but if its relatively simple, doing it myself, am fairly handy, but knowledge free in this area.
the main think i wanted was a radio that would accept a memory card, and put music on this card. playing CDs would be a secondard concern if this worked.

from what i have found, this site shows how to remove the radio, and i would need specialist tools to get it out, these can be bought fairly cheaply on the net. alternatively, if the garrage is doing it, they will have there own.
this is a golf, but the radio seems the exact same.

today walking about town spotted this in Lidl, it seems exactly what i need.

infact it has more than i need, but the price seems very good. and the added benifit for Bluetooth hands free kit looks very interesting.

are all radios of a standard size? will this one just slot back in after connections are made on the back? will it work with my older speakers?
can it be as simply as i seem to think it will be?
    any comments would be appriciated.

    Lost

P.s. will be away for the next few days, so sorry in advance if i dont reply promptly

radios tend to be a standard size. called DIN

I'm pretty sure the standard VW stereo is DIN sized, the only extra you'll need is an ISO to VW adaptor lead.

    It'll look roughly like this

The older polo used standard wiring so there was no need for the wiring adapter, not sure about the new one though.

This is a nice easy install which should pose no problems depending on the car itself there were two different wiring looms in the 2002 polo as it was the start of the can-bus vechicles so on some you may find that there in no ignition power going to the factory headunit in that case you will need to get an ignition source from the back of the fuse box or if you dont fancy tackeling it yourself give me a shout im based in ballybane J. Radio is now installed, without any hitches,
2 wires needed to be reversed, used a vauxhaul convert to do this. but only for the fact i bought this i would have tried to swap the wires myself, as i ended up with a headache trying to get the radio to slot back in, all the additional wires and no room for them to go! eventually got it though, took out the blank switches higher up on the dash and used a clothes hanger to push the wires down as i pushed the radio in! it worked, and the Unit works well,
bought a 2 gig SD card and loaded it with music,
    happy out!
and the bluetooth is a very useful addition.
one thing i would say is it tends to run fairly hot.

Lost (well not so Lost now!)
