Hi all. Applied for my test there a few weeks ago and got the date there last week (Tralee centre) for the 1st of July. I got my provisional on the 10th of February. I only applied early on to make sure I'd get a date straight away once the 6 month waiting peroid is up and I assumed theyd know this. What do I do? I've emailed them but no reply. Should I just sit the test? Im afraid if i get in and show him my licence they'll tll me to fook off but keep my money.

    Any thoughts?
    Cheers

It might be an idea to ring them and explain the situation, and ask for them to postpone the test until after the 10th of August. If you turn up to the test with your permit less than six months, then to the best of my knowledge they won't take you out on the test.

Don't chance it, happened my friend a few weeks ago, they took one look at her licence and told her she'd have to reapply, she's back at the end of the waiting list and lost her money!

Once the tester checks your licence and sees that it's within the first 6 months, he won't take you out. Contact the RSA & reschedule

that's exactly what they'll do. Before starting the test they'll ask for your licence to make sure you have one and check it's valid. Once they see it's a first learners under 6 month the test won't happen and it will go down as a failed test. It's the same as showing up with an expired permit or insurance or any technical faults with the car. There is no way around this, get on to the RSA and have the test moved.
