I've been trying unsuccessfully to try and figure out how do i justify or centre layers in CS3. I've been looking on youtube etc but this is driving me mad!

I know i need to be selecting one of the icons highlighted below, but i just can't get it to work :o It also won't let me select arrange from the layer menus....

Can anybody put me out of my misery?

I assume you have the layer selected and the image, does that do anything... I'll have a look when I get home don't have access to PS right now

The layer alignment controls are relative to another layer as opposed to the stage in Flash.
You need to shift click on two layers to select both of them. Three of more for distribution of layers.
    Then those buttons become active.

Also go to View > Show > Smart Guides to enable these guides.
Then you can use the move tool to position layers and visual guides will appear to aid accurate alignment.

Its funny because iirc multiple selection of layers only came in around CS1 or CS2. So there'd s lot of new things to do with multiple layer selections that aren't covered in more general photoshop tutorials.
