    Hi

    I recently bought a set of these and they're grand except I have noticed a vibrating noise when going over bumpy roads even at low speed. It seems to be the spokes vibrating yet none are loose and all seem well.

    Its prob normal but thought I'd ask if anyone had similar experiences with these or similar wheels.

    I also noticed today that the rear wheel had some lateral movement side to side, which ceased when i tightened the cam bolt. I can assume its normal for wheels to move offline after approx 300km?

    Thanks

    Eggie.

    Will prob be getting a pair of them in the next week or two - will keep an eye on them over the following fortnight and 300km and report back if there's similar happening

    Hey Eggie - just said I'd get back to this thread.

    Won't be able to give you Fulcrum feedback unfortunately - got made an offer I couldnt refuse on a set of THESE.

    I did do a bit of interwebbing and you're not the first person to experience vibrations/wobbles with the zeros though - best guesses have been anything from spokes being slightly off of facing forward to incorrectly balanced rims but there's been no really good explenation though

    Are you sure the vibrations aren't a loose part in the skewer (common in mavic rims more so than in the Campag/Fulcrum wheels), or more likely the valve being a tiny bit loose in the rim hole (put a little tape around the base of the valve where it protrudes from the rim and see if that helps).

    Interesting... what part of the skewer tends to rattle on mavic wheels?

    Some of the mavic skewers have a spring back lever and sometimes if its not 100% tight it wont secure the wheel properly.

    There is a small metal joining pin which on some Mavic skewers can become a tiny bit loose, or it could be the plastic housing around it. The skewer will still hold the wheel, but you will get a high frequency vibrating rattle on rough roads. I have 2 sets of Cosmics, 1 set Kysrium ES and one set of Askiums, I have the rattle on the Askiums and the newer Cosmics (both front wheels), common on lots of lads bikes in the club also.

    LMAO, it was the washer/nut on the valve that was a tad loose. I'll know tomorrow for sure when I head out for a spin, weather dependent. Was wondering why it disappeared recently, fixed it inadvertently.

    @Che: Nice wheels!
