Easy money - Why not Play TV?

After coming in from work last night I turned on TV3 to see that they have a 3 hour show called “Play TV”. Basically it costs you €1.50 to phone in and then before you’re even considered for the competition you have to answer another question on the phone before talking to anyone. If you get it wrong, you’re out, you get it right the odds of you getting through to the studio are very slim. They had a word game last night where you had an 11 word pyramid and you had to find a hidden word. You can only use the letters the number of times they are shown on the screen.

The letters were E, A, R, T, H, L, I, N, E, S, S, in that order (pyramid shaped). After two hours into the show they then revealed that it was a 3 letter word (how many 3 letter words are in it) and with 15 minutes to go they said that it was a three lettered number. People guessed the like of “internet” and silly other words that didn’t even have the letters on the screen. The majority of people getting through to the studio sounded as though they were in their 60’s +. Producers of such shows have it down to perfection.

After 3 hours the jackpot was €2,000 and the presenter is good as she makes it seem as if nobody is phoning in (even though their phones are probably going mental) so people are running to their phones to win 2 grand. I think this is another level of rip off Ireland preying on the gullible and all those poor pensioners getting sucked in to huge phone bills because they can’t read the small writing and get hooked on such shi*e. With the criteria of paying €1.50, answering a question, actually getting through to the studio, the odds are unreal. By the way, I tried it twice when I arrived home just to see what happens and got the answers right, but their phone system just hangs up on you and says “sorry you haven’t been selected, goodbye”. Never Again!

Ya stuck with a show for three hours for a possible gain of €2,000???

Feck that, I wouldn't suffer through even 30 minutes of Eastenders for €10,000!

I would gladly watch Eastenders all day for 20,000 per hour. Mind you I'd probably waste half that on drink to obliterate the memories of the days work.

How do you get your text to be so unreadable like that?

The show is a rip off imo, a waste of time and money.

He clearly (unclearly?) has eye problems having stared at a screen five inches away, for three hours while holding onto his over used mobile phone.

The poor lad. More money (and less eye sight) than sense! :D
