Just thought I'd point this out to people. €22 for a bottle of Garnier sunscreen in Boots, same product €11 in Tesco. Even with the weather we're having theres no need to be forking out too much for this!

 christ those TV ads must be very expensive, just don't pay for these TV ads, you don't really need them. Last time I got suncreen it was very high factor in a decent sized bottle, think it was €2.50 for tescos own brand. Got it last year and not sunburnt once, so it certainly works.

Numerous studies have been done on sun cream that prove there is no difference between brands in how well they protect you from the sun. As Rubadub said, the tesco stuff is a bargain and protects you just aswell as Garneir or other big brands

You have to make sure they have full UVA and UVB protection, brands will differ in this, just because the tesco stuff protects against burning doesn't mean it protects against UVA rays, which cause sun ageing damage and skin cancer.

    Read the label!

I bought the Tesco sun protection Kds cream (factor 30) because it has, quote: "Five star ultra UVA protection" and "UVA/UVB protection factor 30" (direct quotes from the bottle label). You have to remember to apply it regularly, branded stuff or not - that's the key to it.

As a side - the number of people I have seen walking around with no hats on babies and no buggy umbrella's in the weather we've been having recently, do they think that they won't burn? Hideous.

I could be wrong but i think the suncreams are 1/2 price in Tesco but bogof in Boots.that would be why there is such a difference in the price.

Yes your right, its so stupid, I was in Spain last week and the Nivea, Ambre Soleir and Piz burn were the exact same price as in Tesco. (no mention of half price....)

No other Graneier / Nivea products were exactly, the same just suncream.

Was getting SPF 50 sun screen spray in Arizona for $3.

Didnt need to apply it as much as the SFP 50 I brought over with me (€20+ in Boots)

Most sunscreen brands in Boots are BOGOF, as mentioned. Dunnes and Tesco have it at half price- still the 10, 11 mark. Not much difference then, if you're buying 2. Why the hell is it so expensive in the first place though..
