    Hello,

Can anyone recommend a place to do a Business Management evening degree course in Dublin? I understand that Dublin Business School offer evening courses however, that college is a bit out of my price range.

I would like to continue work (9-5) throughout the course. I've seen on the Internet that many places are offering foundation courses etc however, I feel that if I'm going to do a course, I may as well go for the degree??

Anyone else in the same poisition or can provide any help. I don't know if it changes anything but I'm 23.

    Any help is appreciated.

Cheers Sposs. I'm not sure DIT offer a Business management course. The one offered by DBS is the one I would like to do however, as stated, it's ridicolously expensive. May be there is a reason it's so expensive?

Can anyone actually answer that, is DUBLIN BUSINESS SCHOOL worth the fees charged?

Anyway, once again Sposs, I appreciate the help.

DBS is dearer as its a private college , DIT doesnt offer a business management course , but a general business (hons) degree.

IMO DIT is a better degree to have and alot cheaper, and there's talk of DIT eventually getting university status which would also look better on your CV.

    fear the light,

I did a fulltime business and management honours degree for two years and then switched to the evening business degree suggested above in DIT,

the lecturers, notes, material are all the same very little difference and You can specialise in different areas, have a look at the subject lists!, very similar examinations too! Your right about DIT gaining university status, once the move to grangegorman has happened it will only be a matter of time!

    hope this helps

Not in this day and age I'm afraid. It would look better for really specialised courses but not for business related ones as they are just so broad.

Example: I'm a lawyer and got my degree from DBS versus the guy who got his law degree from UCD - The UCD guy has the advantage in my opinion.

But neither do once they do their BAR examinations. The playing field once again is level and down to interpersonal skills and interview techniques.

Example 2: I'm a guy who studied commerce in UCD versus the guy who studied Business Management in DBS - both have the same grade - it's a level playing field.

Degrees and status are ridiculously over-rated and most good employers whom are not biased in their own way, treat both as level until the interview.

I got my hons degree from an institute of technology and I've beaten guys who have "better" degrees from universities. I've been told it as well as I've always been honest and asked the interviewers at the end in the "any questions part" and all of them have been honest as I invariably got the phone call the following day (s)

I can assure you this is the case, I went for over 25 interviews in the may/june period this time a year ago before the recession went into full swing and I did my research.

I wouldn't do a business studies degree, 4 years by night is a long slog and you could get bored by year 2, I would do 1 year courses instead.
Try some of these out, also look at the http://www.imi.ie/ courses

    http://www.dit.ie/study/postgraduate/browse/programmes/title,799,en.html

I did the salewise post grad, both levels get the same training, just different exams, and I found it world class, lots of visiting lecturers and top international sales guys.
