...anyone got any advice regarding setup or best place to order green beans from? I like dark roast with a slight oil on the outside of the bean. Is this easy to achieve with the i-roast 2 or are there any particular beans that produce this result?
Anyway, as you can see I have never roasted before so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks :)

I have no experience with the i-Roast, but I have never had the need to go beyond Hasbean for green beans (and advice on roasting same).

Waraf, have a look at this thread here from back when a few of us here
picked up ours. As always if you've any questions post them up here
and someone should be able to assist.

Yup I used this setting from Gran Hermano for most of my roasts on the IR2, I killed it early occasionally if I thought the roast was going a bit over for my liking though. It depends on the bean.

    Happy roasting!

I tend to terminate the roast on that profile for most beans with 2-3 minutes remaining. With the hot weather I'm hitting the cool button
even earlier. Certain beans I'll even end with 4 minutes remaining.

Hmmm the profile may need to be tweaked by the sounds of it. Anyway I give it a shot and let you know how I get on with it.

What I do is stick with the same program and just end it when I notice the
beans are at the roast stage I want - easier to hit cool when there's
time left on the clock than to reprogram the profile each time. With that
profile you'll notice first crack around the 7-8 minutes remaining mark
(depending on beans and ambient temperature) you should hit 2nd crack
with around 3 minutes remaining (again ambient temperature will mean
it could be 2-4 minutes remaining).
