I'll be putting a new headlining in the car shortly but was wondering about the roof...there was a pad of sound deadining stuck to the roof and a bit of surface rust too...i removed both and was wondering if i just covered the whole area with underbody seal and put the pad back on ,would this cause any other problems (with condensation etc) further down the line...any thoughts/ideas..?

Perhaps a zinc primer would be better. The underbody seal doesn't dry fully and it might smell when the roof gets hot.

Shouldn't be too much of an issue really. If the rust is anything more than surface rust then maybe a coat of rust killer, like Simonez Kurust, would be a good idea.
