I am in the market for a second hand car. I have my own 04 Avensis for sale. Have always been a Toyota driver but I am thinking of a change. Drove the new Avensis and while it is nice I have only bought a new car on one occasion, never again! So any ideas on the Honda? Also, thinking about diesel......I think it is the way to go!

    Any ideas.......

If your getting a 08 one make sure its the current model, getting a final year previous model is a waste of money.

New model Accord is also out, so chances are you'll be getting a late last model. Either way, I'd far sooner either model over any generation Avensis. Go for it. €302 tax for the 2.2 diesel in them too, so you're fine there.

New model Accord was only launched here in Ireland at the end of November last year so it will be hard enough to find a 08 new shape here. New shape was launched last July in the UK though so it should be easier to source one there.

Yea, you are right. I looked at the new Avensis...only ok. I noticed from shopping around that there is a glut of the 09 Avensis (old model) and while they are going cheap, waste of money, in the long run. The day you buy etc. etc.

In any case, the Honda looks the better bet.
