Hi all, looking for reviews on the Garmin Ladies FR60 Bundle. I was lucky enough to get the garmin forerunner 405 as a birthday present but much to my disappointment the flipping thing was way too big for me to wear.:( So now looking at exchanging it for the ladies specific one and just wanted to see if anyone had it and had any pros or cons? Or any other suggestions for some one with a small wrist?

Hi smcgui, the bundle you're talking about includes the FR60, which is a pedometer based watch, rather than a GPS based watch. If you want a GPS based watch, you'd be better off with the 405cx, which comes with a couple of interchangeable straps, and includes a velcro strap for slender wrists. There are a few FR50 users on this forum who seem to like them, and I don't think the changes to the FR60 are very significant (form, rather than function).

Thank Krusty, I looked at that watch also but the actual permanent interface on the watch is about 2 cm too big for my wrist so wouldn't be comfortable. People seem to like their FR50 so I might get the FR60 as I reckon the foot pod will do the trick for me. Just realised however that they don't seem to be released yet. On Wiggle they say sometime early June but no other website says a timeline, anyone know when it is officially being released?

Not so sure on when (Q2 2009 - which should be any time now). The extra strap on the 405 actually runs inside the original strap, so it might still fit. Not sure how comfortable it would be though.

I think that's an optical illusion kc, original strap comes off with aid of provided "spring bar tool", said tool is then required to mount 2 extra black mouldings to hold Velcro strap. It's actually all a bit clumsy but I found it to be more comfortable when done

Sorry, I worded that badly. I mean the soft strap runs inside the watch 'head'.

I was going to put in the caveat to my response, "if I understand you correctly" - I should have known you wouldn't be wrong about such technical aspects

LOL. I don't work for them, honest! (I wish!).
Maybe you could let smcgui try your watch on?! Problem solved!

Thanks to you both!:D I think I'm going to go with the FR60 as I think the 405CX will just look too big on me even if I manage to secure it and plus its even more expensive and don't want my bf to have to spend even more! So have returned the 405 and going to see if I can get the FR60 when it comes into stock. Thanks for all the info!
