Can some one tell me the best thing to drink to get rid of your
    thirst (exept alcohol)
I personally would go for tea (milk,no sugar)
Problem is it's a bit hot to be drinking in this hot weather.
    So any suggestions?

Water with squeeze of lemon or lime, or sweet raspberry tea.

    Lemonade :)

Heat one cup of sugar in a pot with one cup of water until dissolved
Add one cup of lemon juice (4-6 lemons)
Add another 4 cups of water and chill

for pink lemonade add some cranberry juice.

Years ago I worked in Canada with an Italian road gang laying blacktop. These guys drank small cups of very sweet ice cold espresso to kill a thirst. I was drinking gallons of water without much success and one cup of sweet espresso did the trick.
