I know there was a thread where someone posted a funny story, but its so far back ive not got a clue where it is and im too lazy to look.

I was in sadycove/ dun laoghaire with my fiance the other day. It was a nice day, so we went for a walk on the seafront and then thought we might go and get an ice cream in Teddys. On the way we passed the gate to the old baths looking a little worse for wear.
This howiya walks by with two girls...one around four, the other seven or eight. The two girls run over to the gate and the older looks back and excitedly shouts back at her mum

"Look ma! It's the national aqau'ic centre!!!"

    i almost died laughing.

    That's not very funny.

What was behind this gate anyway?

    I help continue yours then...
Not so much of a story as a cruel trick a friend I have plays. He is able to hold nettles by gripping them tightly and has been known to just hand them to a few people. They are generally not paying full attention and just take them. Very cruel but very funny!

There is a saying about that.

    Tender handed stroke a nettle
And it will sting you for your pains
Grasp it with a hand of mettle
And it soft as silk remains

    /or something to that effect.:pac:
