    Anyone played Castle Dargan.
A few of us are heading that way in two weeks and we were told it was a good course to play.
    Anyone agree.?

Yep, fine course. Should have dried out with the good weather lately. It was pretty wet the last time I played it.

yeah good spot for a lads get away. I played it last october and it was wet wet wet but would love to have a go of it in this weather. Hotel staff really nice shame the golf staff didnt do the same personality course:(. Course is good although there are about 4 weak holes but some crackers. really tough finish 16 through 18 but just dont get 2 and 17 mixed up signs need improvement. Of course food is very good.

Played Castle Dargan at the weekend, Open singles on saturday.

Is a nice layout with some fine holes, but fairways and rough in very poor condition as balls plugging and getting covered in mud. Also, lots very rough sand (gravel) on some fairways and on the surrounds to greens, presumably to permeate and improve the drainage.

30 euros to play, but very few seemed to avail of the opportunity, as it was pretty quiet on the course....

Not sure what the green fee is, but I don't think I'd be spending too much to play it, given some of the other (better) options in the North West.

Agree with that completely. And be careful when playing to the green on 6 - I ended up hitting a beauty, only to find my ball on the 7th green.

I only have a few Castle Dargan photos but they might help you along.

Hopefully all that gravel stuff will have gone by then. It seems to be happening ever more frequently.
