inspired by the things you hate thread this is if for those things in the current wwe which you love about it! (i know its a much shorter list as we could all write one a mile long about the ****e the wwe is putting out.

personally i still love the fact that wwe can introduce me to some kick ass rock bands, like in the past: nirvana (DDP), disturbed (SCSA), metallica (sandman), and currently the likes of alter bridge (edge) and rev theory (orton).
i probably wouldnt have heard of these bands if it wasnt for wrestling.

so, what about everyone else? stuff you can still admit to loving?

edit: thanks for the editing of the thread title (SR i presume)

Hope ya don't mind, made a slight alteration to the title.

Btw, DDP never actually used the Nirvana tune, it was a ripoff version with the chords reversed done by a WCW cover band, they did the same for Raven's theme too.
I did like WWE for that too, they introduced me to quite a few bands that way, although video games were more responsible for that too.

At present, because in my honest opinion, the product has been terrible for the guts of a year now... so what do i love about it?
Being surprised when they do put on a decent show, like No Way Out this year. :D

really? but the early theme sounded SO like it? ah well that theme introduced me to nirvana, indirectly now but it still counts! :p

His WCW theme is exactly the same from all the WCW footage of him that i have, both official footage and TV tapings, so i'm assuming the TV stuff hasn't been overdubbed. But to my knowledge, the original theme was never used.

Agree on the music. I think I probably got into listening to Creed because of My Sacrifice being used as a PPV theme and discovered new songs from bands I already knew of as well.

Used to enjoy the comedy element too, simply because I love comedy and it was entertaining. Although some of the comedy stuff (eg. Santino/Santina) gets a bit stale nowadays, but everyone needs a laugh every now and again.

    Actually here's one.

PROPER ringside guest appearances, None of this Pete Rose coming in year after year to be tombstoned by Kane, or some jumped up sh*t who just graduated from college and bought a football team with the inheritance or something (Mark Cuban anyone?). Talking about the likes of Mike Tyson, or Chuck Norris.

When it was a rarity, and not thrown in every Mania to desperately grab ratings.

ah the micky rourke one could have been so much better....and they brought him back recently?! ffs, wwe knows how to destroy something that you still can love!

oh another one to add ot the music, the HOF this year introduced me to living colour (cult of personslity)

When it is good it can be a nice distraction from the choirs that daily life brings.
Its a good laugh after a few pints.
I don't see too many rugby fans turning over to watch this, even after a few pints.

WHAT! We are allowed praise wrestling, thats news to me.

    I love
Well executed Storylines like Jericho v HBK.
    Smackdown post draft.
High paced Matches like the opener to sacrifice.
Smart finishes like Swagger v Christian match with Christian becoming champ.
TV Matches like the US title match.
All Matches with Punk, Jericho, Edge.
    The X division.
The surprises we get, like: Jeff winning the title, Edge cashing in MITB the first and the 2nd time, Punk cashing in MITB, Cena returning for the rumble, Edge getting into the elimination chamber and winning.

For me staying up for a PPV on a Sunday night back in my schooldays was the bees knees. Crawling into school the next day was worth it just to talk to friends about the results of the matches. I still stay up for them, and always find myself getting all excited even when the card is crap. I also love the build up to Wrestlemania, every year the WWE manage to deliver, and the Rumble is usually great stuff and No Way Out is always fantastic.

Mostly just the sight of two muscular men in skimpy clothes touching each other.

That says more about you than it does about the wrestlers.

    Anyway:

    * CM Punk for a start. Dunno why, but I think he's a pretty kick ass rassler.

    * The whole Money In The Bank thing. From the ladder match to the surprising cash-in, it's a fantastic concept.

    * As said in OP, the bands I've been introduced to via WWE (as someone who never listens to the radio, or other online music unless I'm somewhat familiar with it, I'd never have come across my favourite band Finger Eleven, or others like Alter Bridge, Saliva, etc.

    * Jim Johnston - His stuff is still good as ever.

    * The raslers getting their own custom grahpic-covered Titantrons for their entrances, the graphics used on them, a lot of the pre-match promos and pretty much all of the very creative visual media that pops up around WWE.

    * The merchandise (ie; Replica belts/masks being so much easier to get due to the internet. T-shirt designs (in some cases) looking great. Jakks (though repetitive) action figures are better than ever, etc. etc.

    * The way WWE tour over here a lot more now than they ever really did before.
