Can anyone recommend anywhere to get a good price on 3 new X5 tyres
Presume BMW will charge an arm and a leg

Try finding the part number of your tyres from here...
    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do

Then go to any BMW parts department and ask for a price. When they give you it don't collapse, calmly ask if they can give you the trade discount seeing as you were good enough to have the part numbers on hand. You should get at least 10% off.

But I guess you can get cheaper again through other suppliers.

Get the tyre size and ring around for the best price. If you don't mind a bit of hassle, you could try www.eiretyres.com or www.camskill.co.uk

    Where are you based?

Why would you need to go to a BMW Dealer to get tyres? They will most likely just source them from a local tyre supplier/fitter, add a margin then charge you. (I could be wrong but doubt it)

Shoot! I forget to mention that you should not change only 3 tyres, it is not a good idea on a 4x4 to have to different levels of wear on two wheels on the same axle.
I heard of a Range Rover Sport that woudl not shift up to 5th/6th gear (auto) because it had a slightly different size tyre on one side on the rear. A similar issue may arise with a brand new & worn tyre on the same axle.

They deliver to Ireland! They even list Irish fitters.

As part of the price. Better again.
