Used to play a bit when I lived with the folks years ago, mostly used to go up to Good Council in Rathfarnham which I thought was a lovely little course.

With the weather being nice and all, I fancy getting out for a game but I live in East Wall now and was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent p+p course over this direction or on the northside in general.

I would recommend Deer Park in Howth. Get the Dart to the end of the line. Beautiful views as well.

There used to be a busy thread on here about pitch & putt but they set up a new forum - http://www.pitchandputtforum.com/forum/index.php

Malahide castle p&p - nice track, but the greens aren't great. There's also a 9-hole par 3 course - worth a spin. Longest hole would need a 7 or 8 iron

Are any of these members only or good just for a quick round?

Also isnt Portmarnock solely a golf club???

The whole Deer Park complex is public.

Malahide is public - hop on the 42 and you're in business or the DART to the village

YMCA in fairview have a P+P course. It's on Philipsburgh Ave. Heard it's in good condition but no personal experience. Might also be members only but only a shortish walk from East Wall.
St Annes Park have a longish pitch and putt course too

Shandon in Phibsborough is another one.

CYMC/LC in Fairview is short and tight.

Irene is another one close by

there are a number of good private courses on the northside which are affiliated to the pitch and putt union of ireland (www.ppui.ie)- most also take green fee's but prefer members to join..these courses are kept to very high standards and coaching is always available - handicaps are given by the ppui based on standard and there are league and county/national championships so it caters for the casual player as well as the competitive player

Erins Isle p&p is located farnham drive in finglas - annual membership fee is 120 and this includes affiliation to the ppui, social membership to the gaa clubhouse and p&p access basically 24/7..I am on the committee on Erins Isle so pm me if you need more info

Shandon p&p is in phibsboro and cost around 120 too and this includes affiliation to the ppui and p&p access basically 24/7

Ierne p&p is on grace park road (near tolka park) - membership is high as it includes gym, bar bowls and other things - i think membership is in the region of 400 and green fee per round is 7 or 8..

cymc/lc is in fairview and is very small p&p - my personal opinion would be any of the 3 above - membership is the same as Erins Isle and Shandon

check out http://www.dublinpitchandputt.com/ for more info

The p&p course in St Annes park in Raheny is great. Used to be only 9 holes but I think they have 12 holes now. The holes vary in lenght
from about 50 to about 120 yards. Greens should be pretty good.
Its down at the end of All Saints road beside the public tennis courts.
