Wasnt sure where to post this!

I tend to have my camera on me alot and while dont the local pub I seen this big fella. I'm kinda annoyed I didnt put a coin next to him for sizing, but trust me when I say he's about 12-14mm in body lenght with about 30-35mm leg's (Minus the one he's missing) spanning in all directions. Anyone got any ideas if this is a bad one?

I read on sky news about a type of Black widow spider (Same family) spreading across England due to climate change. Anyways... take a look, he's a nasty fecker! I have other photos of weird spiders if somebody is a specalist or knows one! :)

P.S, Yes Im Irish and this was in an Irish pub. :)

I recognise the patern on the back from when I was a kid. Used to spend my time hunting those bad boys down then throwing wasps and bees into their webs, hilarious.

I think its a wolf spider - which actively hunts prey rather than forms nets.

    They aren't poisonous anyway.

    That's a harmless one.

The one you're referring too on Sky News is called the "false widow" and is in Ireland too. They're quite common now.
They have quite a bulbous abdomen and use a platform web which contains many irregular strands.

Tegenaria Duellica, or giant house spider.

Wolf spiders generally don't exceed about 8mm in length. I just so happened to be googling all this yesterday! :D
