Ok I know there is a fancy name for this but what do I do? Ran 16 miles today, can not walk. Cried the last 2 miles. My knee, only one might I add, is in bits. Hugely swollen. Wear Kayano runners and stretch, any tips? Am at my wits end, I can't give up running!

Thread will prob be locked but if it's swollen RICE it today, and get to a physio/doc as soon as you can!

RICE- Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate. Prob only the first two help much, but RI doesn't have the same ring to it :pac:

I do that but I worry it's seriously damaged cos seems to get worse with each run. Why would the thread be locked?

Medical advice not generally allowed. Check the charter thingy at the top.

Stop running and get to a physio to check it out.

Please read the charter. See a doctor or physio. The internet can't diagnose what's wrong with your knee and "runners knee" could be almost anything.
I hope you recover well and soon.
