    Evening all,

I'm a righty and have been playing now for about 5 months but have begun to wear away the skin on my right index finger and during play it can become a bit 'raw' and can affect peak golfing performance!!!! :D

I've looked for gloves online and in Mcguirks to see if I can get a glove with extra padding - no Joy!

Does anyone know of a brand that could help?

Tape placed between knuckle and first joint, usually does it for me. You might also be holding club way too tight

Do you also go through a lot of gloves?

What condition are your grips.......if they are worn then maybe that doesn't help. If so then get new grips......you can get grips for arthritis and they are soft (might help).

It does sound like you're gripping it way too tight unless you're hitting about 500 balls a day. Your right hand should be just going along fairly passively really as your left hand is the main link to the club.

Try googling the bionic glove, I think it has extra padding.

There is a new Kangaroo hide glove (Or something along those lines) coming out that are slightly thicker and offer more padding than normal gloves. But I think they are £25!!

Nomis do the Kangaroo one.....I have one somewhere but haven't used it yet. I bought it for playing in the rain.

I don't think it's any thicker........err maybe I should find it and see.

    Thanks all.

Sounds like I'm gripping the club to hard!
Will adjust and hopefully this will help.

Back to the original question.......why would you get a glove if your right index finger is a problem......were you thinking of wearing two gloves?

You may be "regripping" the club at the top of the backswing......I think this may cause a problem with your fingers. Maybe you just have sensitive hands and maybe a small amount of cream (and I mean small) would help you.
