I am just looking for abit of advice if possible, Story is, i would be a fairly confident guy when it comes to talking to people etc but when it comes to making move on a girl i get very shy, i have most been in relationships since about 14 and now i am 24 so never really had to chat someone up in clubs etc...Anyway i came out of a long term relationship 4 months ago and i have been having a great time spending time with friends, now every weekend for the past month i have always met these great guys out flirting etc clearly both were interested but i was always to shy to make the move, I met one of my friends friends at the weekend, fantastic girls good looking, great personality just all round nice girl and had a great time just talked had a laugh etc but came down to it i was to shy to make a move but i got the currage to ask her did she fancy heading for something to eat or a drink sometime and she said ya def, exchanged numbers etc anyway she texted me last nite saying did i ring her etc(which i didnt) and we exchanged a few texts i told her i had a awesome nice she was really sweet and nice etc and if she was still up for going out she said ya def up for it, she is going home for the summer about hour and half away so i said i will leave it up to yourself whenever your free as i know your going home for a few weeks she said ya cool etc and said night as i was out with a few friends....Now the advice i need is what should i do from her should i text her in a few days just see how she is small chat etc and also should i actually mention going out again or leave that up to her i obviously dont want to seem over eager etc. I know i sound fairly sad but i have never actually done this before.

    Thanks

Hi OP. Yes, I would definately text her - if you haven't already since you posted. Sounds like she is interested but the ball is in your court. You saying that you'd leave it up to her when you saw her again could sound like a brush off, which means that the next move is actually up to you ironically!

Start off with small talk, "how is it being home.." etc, light hearted, nthg too heavy, and then take your cue from her reply as regards asking her to meet up. How friendly is she etc.

And don't stress it! just be yourself - you may not have experience of the whole text flirting malarky but if you've been in relationships since you were 14 you must have a pretty good idea about how the female mind works, which is worth a thousand chat-up lines when it comes to impressing women.

How I HATE that awful incredible terrible amazing tenacious texting at the start of something new. I too am shy around de laydeez, especially if I like them!

YES text her. If nothing happens... well you tried. If something happens, well you;re the man!

... but if ytou do nothing, you'll never know and you'll always wonder.

My last experience of this was texting a cute girl (out of my league) I'd met out the night before and physically having to be restrained from sending her more messages when she didn't reply to me after an hour or so... torture!

My advise to you is play it cool. If you send a message and don't get a reply, don't keep texting her. If you DO get a reply, leave it like 15 mins before you send one back, even if you are trembling with excitement. This makes you look confident and cool and that is attractive to women! Be light and friendly and maybe venture a bit of friendly slagging if she has a sense of humour, but nothing nasty

These 'txt rules' are stupid and annoying in my opinion but you are better off following them, at least roughly. I know what I am talking about. That cute girl I mentioned above? My girlfriend now this 10 months!
