    Hi,
I was thinking about insuring my car under my dads name and was wondering if i were to crash would it affect his no claims bonus. It would be his second car. I heard somewhere that it wouldn't affect it

    PLEASE RESPOND

Of course it'll be affected. It's a no claim bonus and he'll have made a claim.

Not too sure how it would affect his other policy, assuming he has fully protected NCB, but he may have to stay with that company for 5 years after the claim. Or he could loose his full NCB as the protection is an extra insurance you take out on your policy and he won't have that on the policy for your car. The easiest way to find out for sure is to call his insurance company and ask as they all have different policies.

There is also the legal implications of the main driver not being the registered owner or policy holder.
