Women rating other women's online pictures very low

A good friend of mine has taken up internet dating since she's very shy IRL. The site she joined has a feature where members can rate other members' photos on a scale of 1-10. She is extremely pretty. I'm not just saying that because she's a friend. She has done some modeling.

Most of the male members on the site rated her in the 7-10 range.

What amazes me is that dozens of other women are rating her 1 or 2. Pathetic really. Of course everyone has their own tastes and ideas of beauty, but there is no way she is a 1.

Do they think that by rating her so low it increases their own chances?? I don't get it. I hate when women are catty with other women.

Little do they realise they are rating their own personalities when they do that.

Your friend wouldn't be interested in what another female rates her so I can't see the problem.

Women can be stupidly catty imo. It's more important to some of them that they feel better by staing another low to make themselves feel better than to be objective and rate something accurately.*

*Does not apply to my gf.

As long as you put your name/pictures/opinions on the web, you should expect to get all sort of feedbacks. Mean or not.

Women looking for men. The pictures on the profiles can be rated by either gender regardless of what the member is looking for.

Sure once the pic of her is there it doesnt matter what the ratings are. Some fella looking for an ould ride isnt gonna think nice one, then say a crap she is only a 1 Im not gonna do her.

Ever just think they are just not taking said poll seriously? Maybe tell your friend not to take internet polls seriously as a means to establishing how attractive she is.
Having your picture on the interweb leaves you open to critique and taking part in such polls increases this potential. It's the net not real life!

Met my bf off plentyoffish actually. Going out a year now. Yes women can be catty, but as said previously, if you put your pictures on public display, be prepared for public judgement, positive or not! Women could be jealous and rate low to keep her overall rating low. Or they may not find her attractive - might be a slutty picture or something and they rate her low!
