This update came out a while back and has a huge flaw where it corrupts the file system on the device. Means that no new history will get written after it corrupts things.

Garmin know about it and have a few things to try but one of them is returning to the 2.6 firmware. There is a 2.8 firmware on the way which is meant to fix this but they don't when.

Thanks for the warning. Just did a bit of research and found this link on Bikeradar to revert to 2.60.

Have not had any problems with 2.70 yet but I dont do the lap reset save trick I usually upload after each spin.

After running through mine, the disk got corrupted during an upload so it was a ride from a week ago that was causing the problems. Removing it and running a chkdisk let it save yesterdays stuff. However annoyingly, only the second ride got saved correctly so the first one is gone somewhere. The device can read the first bit and create a course, but is unable to save anything else.

I've dropped back to 2.6 too as the 2.7 has a habit of writing random data to the xml files if it crashes when syncing satellites on the map screen. Another issue Garmin know about.
