Impacted Wisdom Tooth - no insurance

I have to have an impacted lower wisdom tooth removed and my dentist said it's a general anaesthetic job and is urgent.

Now, I just cancelled my VHI. I'm not too worried about joining a waiting list in the Dental Hospital but I'm wondering if the cost of having it done publicly would be more expensive than rejoining VHI (I think I have 13 weeks from cancellation to rejoin without losing any cover).

Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost - the Dental Hospital website says tax relief is payable but that PRSI doesn't cover the procedure.

I'd be more worried about the wait for the Dental Hospital. I've been waiting a year to have my wisdom teeth removed. The Dentist says its urgent so I'd get back on the VHI tbh it would be quicker to get it done.
