Crotch (whatever bits u may have) Protection??

Hey lads and lasses,

Got shot in the crotch last week (without going into too much specifics) and it hurt like a muthaf***a!!

Just wondering, if its not too much of a weird question, anyone wear any type of..err... protection down there?....makeshift or otherwise?


also while im here, goin warehouse on tuesday, is an M15A4 too big of a gun to use there or will I be ok?

all i can think of is the groin protection thing (like ball strangelers) that people in taekuondo use,maybe the martial arts shop in town is your best place to try for one of those,but to be honest is will be anoying you

the better quality(and more expensive)groin guards can fit comfortably.Ones with strings as opposed to elastic can be fitted quiet loose and wont feel as if your about to castrate yourself:eek:

btw dont do airsoft,train in muay thai.Cant think of anythin else that could project your dangly bits

yeah I already tried a jock strap/cup, but then u cant feel when u get hit and people complain that ur not taking ur shots lol

also they're pretty damned uncomfortable...but i guess its a lesser of 2 evils

I just put a pair of socks. Works well. My advice is not to expose your jewels. About the gun for CQB. Shorter the preparation time to shoot the better it would be.

What kind of kit are you wearing that getting shot in the crotch hurt you that much?

A standard pair of BDU's should be enough to take most of the "whack" out of any skirmish legal aeg.

... unless of course you are extraordinarily well endowed, in which case you should be more concerned with finding a motorised wheel-barrow to carry yourself around in.

How many hits to the crotch are you taking that protecting it would make people think you're not taking hits?

A cup, as opposed to a jock strap, will give you plenty of protection but they're a pain to run in. Those MOLLE blast guards are great but they flap all over the place when you're running.
My advice is to always remember which gun you're supposed to be leading with...

However, they've yet to come up against the Aled Jones All Stars, and that might prove to be their undoing. Crotch shots are no good against them.

Wear quality jocks beneath your BDU's or learn to stand sideways, giving your opponents less to shoot at.

Seriously though (if one can be serious about a crotch-thread ... ), I dunno why people are getting so worked up about getting shot in nether regions. Unless it's point-blank, it'll be a light flick against your BDUs and not much else. Perhaps a "ooo" moment and that's all.

At the Birmingham 2008 fireball game in Birmingham, my BDUs developed a wonderful rip that migrated up the front of my trousers as the weekend wore on (only having brought the one pair .... crotch-phobes beware, and the Master might want to avert his eyes now). I subsequently took a single BB not only to the crotch, but through the hole in the BDUs with naught but a pair of boxers to shield myself from searing agony.

Didn't hurt. I just laughed my ass off, along with everyone else in close proximity. I'll laugh jsut as much when someone comes waddling past wearing a cup too

I didn't wear a cup in my years playing hurling or American football. I think the likelihood of an impact to the nether regions (since we're now being incredibly polite and PC about our terminology) is not only considerably greater, but will certainly contain a great deal more force of impact.
If I wasn't concerned enough to wear one then, I sure as the day breaks won't be concerned enough to wear one to a skirmish. Especially when I'm willing to take a burst of rounds to completely exposed flesh (ie face, hands, arms) already.
