Short of getting a second phone line, is there any way to do this?

Yes, you can keep your eircom.net email address even if you no longer have an eircom phoneline

You will need to modify your outgoing mail server details to whatever NTLs is. Incoming mail server remains the same (mail.eircom.net).

If you're using an email client then yeah.
The outgoing server for UPC is "smtp.upcmail.ie"

    (obviously without the ""'s)
