I think we have a grain mustard by them, I'll go down to the fridge and have a gander..

Hmm, it might be Aldi, always get mixed up with the two outlets.

The Lidl "English" mustard is at least a strongish mustard but to be honest it has a funny after taste I really don't like. Doesn't pass my std Strong English mustard test, by which I means its not Strong enough, I could eat a whole jar and my taste buds would be saying "is that supposed to be hot?"

The Lidl whole grain mustard is a tad batter but still has a tang that I don't think should be there.

If nothing better was available I'd use either but I don't think its hard to find better mustard.

oh and then theres the squeezable American mustard which is OK but non starter in the real mustard league.

Never tried it but you've got my curiosity going now. Will buy it on my next visit.

Is it as good as Dijon?
I'm very snobby about my mustard and will not try another brand unless someone recommends it.

NO! If you want Colmans English Mustard I don't think it comes close, apart from not being as strong it doens't have the fresh mustard taste like Colmans does. The lidl's version seems to me like a strong(ish) mustard with a Dijon after taste?

Not sure if they do a Dijon (might have missed it) but I would recommend their whole grain mustard....... well it tastes OK by the spoonful ;)

They do do dijon, I have their little 3 pack of wholegrain, dijon and garlic and parsley dijon and it's really good for the price.
