Octo LNB - Loss of picture quality?

I currently have a quad LNB with 4 sky boxes (one sky sub), self installed. I am going to upgrade my main box to a second hand sky plus(and eventually HD) so will need a bigger LNB.

Not being that technically minded I just wondered if there would be a noticeable reduction in signal quality/strength the more connections I attach. (this is the obvious presumption but I would like to check)

Also would I need to upgrade my dish (standard old rusty sky dish from 5 years ago) and is there a brand of LNB I need to look for/avoid?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

    should be no loss.

I think triax is a good brand (many in here reccomend)
have a look at satelite.ie for dish and lnb. as well as other stores on the stickie.

If you are looking to fit an OCTO Lnb make sure you get the right type for the type of dish you have.

There is 2 types..one for a Sky Oval Shaped dish

and a second for a larger round shaped dish.

Alternatively another method would be to use a Multiswitch. This will allow you to send sat signals to as many boxes u want.

Multiswitch uses a lighter Quattro (or Quad for many on 1st position) and can be expanded up to 1000 tuners. A 100 Euro Multiswitch can take up to four LNBs/Dishes and feed up top 16 receivers.

You can get cheaper multiswitch for just one Satellite.
