Do any open source CMS write static html files?

I was helping out recently on a site with a custom CMS.

None of the changes were displayed until the html pages were recreated. This must be a great performance improvement over 'regular' CMS.
I am curious if any open source CMS that does this.

    Wordpress with supercache installed.

You can configure movabletype to do this as well.

Downside - new articles / posts may take a minute or two to appear

Upside - you can get slashdotted (or whatever) and you won't have any issues (most of the time)
