DAW for guitar/vocals

OK, I'd say this has been asked before, and point me in that direction if it has, but what is the best DAW for recording guitar and vocals and maybe a few other instruments. I'm using cubase at the moment, but it seems overly complex for something fairly simple. I really just want to be able to record instruments/vocals, add effects, and mix. Possibly add a few drum or bass samples.

Should I persevere and learn cubase (it's a slow process, and it's really not rewarding to play into and not be able to do anything with the track. I can't even manage to add effects yet.) or is there a simpler daw made for what I'm trying to do?

    Cheers all!

stick with cubase, theres not really all that much to it in terms of doing what youre looking to do. what bits are you struggling with?

cubase is great , just need to get familar with it
    it works very well .

reaper is also very good and has some great pre sets .
and i would say has better in the pack eq's end effects than cubase off the bat.

its just a matter of creating a good template project and using that in both cases .

im not too familar with logic or pro tools though .

you just need to spend some time and get used to it , everyone of them is like this - you need time .

took me a while , but you will get fast at using it if you use it like you mean it .
