Don't think you'll find one on the Sunday of the bank holiday. Maybe post up the problems you're having and some more knowledgeable boardsies might be able to help!

unless you know a mechanic personally you havent a hope of getting one this side of Tues.
Only thing I can suggest is to pop the bonnet and make sure no hoses are loose. Was there work done on it lately?
But to be honest it sounds a bit like the gearbox/clutch is on the way out.

Just wondering. Does the engine tick over alrite once started.

Has this "shuddering" started gradually, any other noises heard.

Whats the mileage on your car, if it is the clutch, you might be able

to adjusted it, especially if its the old cable type.

    right.

i pulled in a favor from a old neighbor who is a mechanic.

left it with him this morning and got a 40euro cab to work!!

he had to replace the ignition coil on it, he put a temp one that he had. i was advised to get a full set of 3 as the others 'might go in the following months'

where do i go shopping for ignition coil..?

In fairness give people more than half an hour to answer your post!

You can get them in VW or else from the likes of GSF (www.gsfcarparts.com)
