Kenda Kriterium tyres on Giant FCR 1

    Folks

I have these on my Giant but I've had four punctures since March (when I bought the bike). I spoke with Kenda USA and they admit that they've a tendency towards punctures, so I'm considering upgrading. (The Kenda guy actually said: 'The softer compounds have a tendency to "pick-up" more road side debris and can lead to punctures'.)

They're 700x25C if that helps too! I would like the tyres to give me speed, grip (in wet conditions too) but more important, help reduce the likelihood of punctures.

What should I consider buying? (And I'd prefer not to spend more than €100 for both tyres.)

    Thanks!

Loads of threads on this matter if you do a search , my preference would be continental ultra gatorskins , look 'em up in Chain Reaction's site or Wiggle for a good deal .

Cyclesuperstore are (were?) doing a special: 2 Schwalbe Ultremos for 50 euro. Seeing as they normally cost 35/40 euro online, it's a good deal. Great tyre!

I did a search but some of the stuff was too technical for me and probably above my level. Hence the new thread. Thanks for your feedback.

I have an FCR 1 myself, and replaced the tyres with continental GP4000's. No punctures yet after 1000Km, so seem to be OK. Was getting punctures every 2-300Km before I replaced the typres. €31 each on CRC http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=15872
I use th bike primarily for commuting, but have also done several spins through Wicklow, and they have proven to be very reliable.

Gatorskins, Ultremos or GP4000s are good choices, I have used all of them. I tend to go for Ultremos on my road bike and Gatorskins on the tourer/commuter as Ultremos are not available in 700x25 (or used not be in any case.) Ride quality will be better on the Ultremos/GP4000s.
