If I buy a pick up for private use, bringing home fuel ect. Am I expected to tax and insure it as a commercial vehicle. Or am i expected to tax and insure as a private vehicle, if I,m not using it for a commercial business. thanks

The tax office would be looking for a commercial insurance policy in order for them to tax it as commercial. Getting commercial insurance would be an issue if you don't have a business activity. Also the tax office may ask for a goods vehicle declaration which would prohibit private use.

You could of course simply tax and insure it private.

So I can get private insurance on a commercial vehicle. I was not too sure about that. Is a private policy more expensive than a commercial one. Or is it just different coverage. thanks

It would just be different coverage. I have no idea on cost but I would think it would be cheaper.

If I buy a , lets say, transit pickup and insure and tax it privately. Am i still allowed to purchase it in the north, and pay the E50 vrt at commercial rate.

Or because I,m insuring and taxing it for private use, will I be expected to pay vrt at the full rate.
    Thanks
