Something EdK mentioned in the TNA thread, and i didn't want to derail that thread so starting this, but i have a question:

Have I missed something? I thought Nowinski is still under contract to WWE for public appearances? I know he was removed from the "Smackdown your vote" campaign about two years ago, but was he ever wished the best in his future endeavors?

Not sure about any WWE contract but he seems to make a living doing seminars on concussion syndrome now, The event I mentioned was organised by Booker T and WWE pulled talent from it for WM appearances people such as Simmons,Torrie and Santana who weren't under WWE contract at the time

So I reckon if he still had any kind of contract with the WWE they would have prevented any appearance

I think Nowinski wrote a book on head injuries too.

Well Simmons and Torrie could get back in the ring tomorrow, and i'm not so sure about Santana. Nowinski is out of ring action completely, so I'm guessing WWE felt like they had nothing to lose.

You may be right here, i'm just confused because i don't ever recall an official statement regarding his release (if he was released). Of course, i'm quite tired at the minute and my brain is in neutral.

On his website he talks about WWE as his former employer and says he is now president of the sports legacy institute, with him speaking on the dangers of concussions and the Benoit story I don't imagine WWE want to get too close these days, that's really about all I can gather

Hrm, would be the logical conclusion to draw, alright.

He was probably never officially future endevoured as he retired due to injury and then worked for them in a spokesperson capacity if he was then let go it would not have made the wwe.com homepage or anything due to the fact he was not an on air talent

Hadn't thought of that actually. Clears up a lot, now that you mention it. :)
    So cheers.
