I am running the Cork marathon on monday and have bee wearing contact lenses for about a month.
The longest I have previously run with the contacts in is about 12 miles.

Not sure about running full marathon with lenses, anybody experience in this area???

mod hat:moved this from the charter

myopic hat: I'm a contact lenses wearer. I usually use the monthly disposable and have never had a problem with them for any event, even in sandstroms.

Good luck with the marathon. Is it your first?

Me three. Great having the lenses as I could finally see where I was going, avoid lampposts, read my watch and wear shades.

    You won't have a problem.

Me 4 not a problem - sweat might get into your eyes buts its no different than without them.

I've worn them in several marathons. No problem, but sweat getting in the eyes tends (I find) to sting more. Solution: lightly smear vaseline above your eyebrows. This tends to channel the sweat away.

Thanks, did the Cork mararthon on monday with the contacts and didn't even notice them.
Was very hot, tough but great support due to all the relay people and their supporters/ families etc.

Always wear them and find them great.

Sunglasses do really help though to stop dust and grim getting into your eyes. Even if it's dark I tend to wear lightly tinted ones.

I wear gas permeable so I think they're more susceptible to dirt and grit getting under them. I've another thread going about a great pair of sunglasses I just got.
