Yep, Group B Aerial pointing towards Longford (Cairn Hill) RTE1, RTE2, TV3, TG4 on UHF channels 40,43,46,50, DTT trial available on UHF channel 41. Then you'll probably need a masthead amp and power supply and a 2,4,6 or 8 way Distribution unit (depending on how many tv points) Sky minidish (60cm) with a quad or octo lnb and as many freesat or FTA sky boxes as you need and you're future proofed. just make sure if your mate is buying new tv's to make sure they're mpeg4 compatible, he's as well spending the extra few quid now for the DTT pictures rather than having to buy set top boxes when the analogue signal is switched off.

We don't have Freeview in this country. Its a UK option only.

We do have access to Freesat which I and many others have discovered the joys of, principally in that you aren't paying SKY between €250 - €840 a year in subscription fees!!!:D

Have a look at the Humax Foxsat HDR which is a SKY HD box without the subscription, i.e. you can watch one channel while recording another, record 2 channels at once while watching something you've recorded earlier, record whole series at the touch of a button etc etc, and its HD as well.

One of the other posters suggested using a 60cm SKY dish. SKY dishes are cheap rubbish that rust and break after 5-6 years. For €50 or so you'd get a top quality 80cm TRIAX dish that will last and the larger dish surface area will help in obtaining the best possible signal strength and quality.
