I have noticed the last few mornings that their topics for discussion are all AH Threads Titles..
Thought it was a coincidence and then this morning's was 'Strange things you do', which was a recent thread

Is this a regular thing with radio stations?

I have noticed an increase in anti-Dave McSavage opinions around Dublin which I presume are stolen from After Hours.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 58,456 ✭✭✭✭ibarelycare

Yeah I've read on here about this happening frequently enough. I remember someone saying that 98 were talking about one of the threads (I think it was the Stingiest People one?) and were even reading out post. Phantom were reading out posts from the Hottest Election Candidates thread this week too!

    They existed before the internet.

On two recent occasions topics have been referred in the Sunday World aswell....although surprisingly nothing has been mentioned about how much of a tool Paul Williams is.

And all the bother we go to making the podcasts... :P

No, this isn't unusual. Not too much we could do about it though I would guess. Except for making sure every thread title is really boring

Someone should start a thread about sh1t radio stations and plagiarism.

I noticed that hottest election thread topic getting a mention in the metro earlier in the week alright. Then again... they don't really report much.. more so write what they think they've noticed on other websites...

... Anyhow, the problem here so is that there's sh|t presenters on the radio who can't come up with their own gimmick and reporters that use another guys joke as a freacking story...

The Adrian Kennedy phone show did this about a year ago and that chap Jeremy he has in the studio with him to stop ripping off things you're seeing on boards.ie.

    Brilliant.

If any of you lot from the TV without pictures want to steal use any more of our topics for discussion, please be aware of the nominal fee of €100 per post quoted and €1000 per thread. Payable to me in wads of cash.

Of course the real problem is people listening to FM 104 in the first place. That's a cack radio station altogether.

Adrian Kennedy if you're reading this then you're a lying *******.
When I was a kid I used to ring your phone show competition for a swatch watch and you told me to keep trying and I'd win.
    Well guess what? I didn't.

And as an upshot I now hate gingers.

    Thanks

No worse than Radio Kerry down here. People only listen to that in the hope that the death one of their rich relatives is read out in the family notices. They should cut the crap and call it "Inheritance Radio".

What's even more scandalous is that a lot of AH thread ideas are stolen from news/radio/tv.

    EDIT-

    Oh god!!!!

Where do these ideas even come from?

Using idea's for topics these radio peeps see on boards.ie is one thing but one presenter was reading out posts from boards.ie as if they were txts sent in to his show which is well ****ed up. Credit where is due ffs.

The PhoneShow also brings up topics from the AH Forum, and abuses or supports them for 30-45 minutes.

They say its from an Irish forum site, and it always seems to be threads on the AH forums . . .

Few weeks ago FM104 brought up the "Hottest Irish Female" thread that was here a while ago and mentioned it was on boards. :D

Those weilding pitchforks are the heart and soul of this forum and it's their opinions which end up being used as cheap research.

    I take offence at that.
10% of all posts on this site are in this one forum.
At least 16% of your posts are here too.

"All your Threads are belong to us"

What about if we create a thread here called "FM104 is crap"? I'd be happy to let them steal that.

No offence intended Terry. I wasn't slating it, given that I do indeed post here a fair amount. But I find it interesting that a radio station would have interest in it considering that its hardly the brains of the operation. Every so often you might get a little nugget of a debate going. But in order to use up around 16% of my posts here, I'd lurk frequently out of boredom. You have to admit yourself, that the amount of topics that come up repeatedly is head-wrecking. Despite this, I've made some pretty good friends here.
