Did a run in Malahide park earlier. Got back to car, grabbed a drink and walked 100mt to stretch. Came back to find the car broken into and my wallet phones and other stuff gone.
After talking to the warden, he told me there were 3 robberies that day . This happened in the space of ten minutes of stretching.

Moral of the story , be careful parking anywhere for a run, scumbags lurking..

Something similar happened a neighbour mountain biking in Djouce - when he came home he realised his laptop was gone from his boot. When he phoned the Gardi and explained where he had been, they said they are aware guys just parked up in car parks where they know you will be away from your car for a period of time and somehow record your fob signal to remote open your car - when you get back you don't notice anything!!!

sorry to hear you stuff got robbed, thanks for the info, i was going to run malahide park today, glad i didnt after hearing your story. Probably best you didnt even notice them, the law is completely on the side of these scum. I guess in the recession we are all going to have to watch out.

One thing on recording FOB's, someone told me that if you lose your key and want access to your car all you need to do is phone home and have someone press the FOB of your spare key down the phone and it will open you car, guess these guys are now recording you as you close your car!

also make sure nothing is visible in a car. If i have my wallet with me i always make sure its well out of view, even when theres nothing in it
