Guys I don't bike but I've seen this twice in the last 2 weeks.
Today about 7.30 on the N81, it was a sportsbike of some sort guy had leathers on but had his phone out and was txting, traffic was moving about 40kph. The previous time I seen it was sunday 2 weeks ago on the M50 of all places same deal guy must have been doing 70 at least the guy pulled up beside the car and I did a double take.

Opinions.. and does anyone do it??

Twats!! I wouldn't do it! I'd rather wait till i got home instead of risking something stupid like that..

I don't understand how people can do it!!! Idiots!

Yeah it was frankly shocking, now I did it while driving before and came within inches on being a statistic, so now the phone goes into my pocket and stays there til I finish my journey and tbh doing it on a bike I would regard as highly suicidal!

You'd want to be a complete moron. I've never seen it happen, has anyone else seen it much?

I wouldn't have thought that possible to be honest.

Gloves issues aside, which hand would you use?

The left hand obviously... But it's suicide. Idiots...

If it was urgent enough that they'd risk their lives, you'd think they'd call instead of text...

Would never do it meself. Be to awkward holding my electric razor and phone at the same time.
I check texts at traffic lights sometimes. Then when lights go green I just throw the phone in me pocket or between my manly legs. Only at traffic lights at top of me estate like.other than that they can wait

Nothing worse than getting a text while driving and pulling in to read it. Only to find it's a junk text

is texting while on a bike not a suicide attempt.

A woman got 5 yrs for killing someone while texting in a car.

Someone on a bike would kill themselves more than likely.

    That is crazy

Fecking stupid if you ask me. I have hard enough time reading a text at the lights. If I'm expecting one important, I'll pull over at the safest place - but doing it on the go is insanity.

I've seen moped riders doing this quite a bit - helmet up, texting with the left hand. Morons.

Harleys have a fairly okay throttle lock, but texting doesn't seem sensible.
