Starting work/stopping dole

Have just been offered a job which I'll be starting next Tuesday. I also normally collect my dole on a Tuesday. Just wondering if I am still entitled to payment on that Tuesday (I assume the payment is for the previous 7 days?).

Don't want to be getting more money than I should but at the same time the job I'm starting is minimum wage so I need all the money I'm entitled to! Any help would be great.

You are entitled to your payment right up until the day before you are due to start work. You should let your local office know straight away, that you are due to start work, and that way they will be able to calculate the correct amount of money due to you. It will usually be sent out to you by cheque, if it is more convenient for you.

similar position myself, I won't be able to call into the SW office though as I have to travel to the new job and they don't answer their phone, any ideas how I should let them know that i'm back to work?
